Introduction by: Peter Marshall
This is the final, 4 minute video covering Travel Retail Norway’s completely redesigned Departures stores at Oslo Gardermoen Airport. There are two main stores – North and East – sited very close together, each comprising approximately 2000 sq m. Just like Arrivals, the two Departures stores provide easy navigation and site lines and there is an abundant use of natural materials. Equally, there is plenty of evidence of flexible furniture models, the simple, almost ‘industrial’ look for housing Perfumes, as well as Future Friendly products and many brands that reflect the Best of Norway. There are also stand alone – and stand out – units for Armani and Chanel. What passengers will essentially experience are retail stores that are flexible, local and sustainable.
It all works and, according to Jens Wolf, Gebr. Heinemann Director Sales Nordics, the investment here and all the key elements combine to underpin TRN’s belief that the travel retail market will continue to grow strongly in the coming years.
It is a very different execution from what you can see at Copenhagen and elsewhere. So, will what now exists at Oslo set a new benchmark for what we can expect from Heinemann elsewhere? Only time will tell, but I suspect the answer is yes.
