Airports & Travel RetailersBlogSustainability

Introduction by: Peter Marshall

Travel Retail Norway (TRN) is the joint venture between Gebr. Heinemann and Norse Trade. This 4 minute film is the first of a series of 3 videos that showcase the impressive redesign at Oslo Gardermoen Airport. And it’s not just a redesign. At the heart of what is now presented is a ‘flexible, local and sustainable’ duty free offer.

The tax-free Arrivals store is some 3200 sqm. It represents some 50% of turnover from the 6 stores that TRN operates that make up the 9000 sq m total. It is an enormous store and often conducts more than 10,000 transactions a day. The reimagined store has created far better sight lines and ease of navigation for customers. TRN has kept to its promise of ‘flexible, local and sustainable’ and evidence of this is everywhere to be found in the store. All backed up by a brilliantly executed AutoStore system.

As you will see, it has a very different look and feel from other Heinemann stores. But here there is a clearly identifiable path the global operator is on.

Watch this space – literally!
